We know Toshiba for its laptop computers, or its copiers, tomorrow we may also know this japanese company as a battery manufacturer for electric cars. Toshiba is building a new factory that will have an output of 500,000 SCiB (Super Charge ion Battery) cells each month, starting from February 2011. And there’s more, Toshiba has signed a contract with a car manufacturer. This will not be an hybrid car, it will be a new pure electric model! But the name of this manufacturer is not revealed yet…

What we know is that Toshiba has won orders from Honda to supply batteries for electric motorcycles, and we guess that this upcoming motorbike will be the EV-neo scooter. We shall wait and see…
