The fastest electric car in the world is a Venturi already. Since we can always do better, Venturi will go back to Bonneville this summer and drive faster than ever before, and even faster next year. This year’s goal is 350 mph, and it will be 400 mph in 2014, but the ultimate goal is even higher. The dream would be to make the Venturi VBB-3 faster than the fastest piston-engined car. The record stands today at 436 mph, so a lot of work is needed but the Franco-American team should be up to it.
Ultimately, we hope that all the knowledge learned from developing this record car will somehow help making Venturi road cars faster and more affordable. But that’s another story…
