You don’t charge them, you fill them up just like you would with a gas car. That’s because they use a liquid electrolyte. If this car performs as well as expected, this is a revolution. Sure, charging can get better and faster, but it will always be easier and quicker to pour a liquid into a tank than to move electricity.
It’s still too early to say if the technology is viable, but there’s good news, as the Quant has just been approved for road use in Germany. The car is now registered in Munich, and it can drive everywhere in Europe, meaning that public demonstrations are now possible. Stay tuned for more, it should be worth it!
