We knew an hybrid Panamera would come, the wait is nearly over. The car will be introduced in Geneva, and its market launch is scheduled for June in its home market. Porsche hasn’t released a full spec sheet yet, but we know the most important: top speed is 168-mph. With 6-seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62-mph, that’s the essential data for any Porsche fan, and that makes this Porsche Panamera the fastest production hybrid ever.
The powertrain is quite the same as the Cayenne hybrid, which means a 333-horsepower, supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 gasoline engine with a 47-horsepower electric motor. On the European test cycle, fuel consumption is a remarkable 35-mpg. It won’t be as good on the EPA test, but still a huge improvement over the standard V8 Panamera.
Unfortunately, this low fuel consumption doesn’t come at a low price. Expect to pay more than $100,000… This is the green car that’ll ask you a lot of green…
